  • What’s an Acupuncture Visit Like?
Your first session is 90 minutes long. We will spend as much time as needed to discuss your current concerns and medical history. It’s necessary to have a good picture of what’s going on with you, find out how you got here and what can be done to help you improve. If you are just wanting treatment for something like a stiff neck or sore lower back and don’t want to do a deep dive into things, that’s okay. We can have a shorter intake and focus more on treatment. However, some questions are necessary for a proper TCM pattern differentiation and diagnosis. I’ll be taking a look at your tongue, so please don’t brush it that morning and avoid any staining foods and drinks for a few hours beforehand. The length, size, color and shape of your tongue body, plus coating, are one key part of a TCM diagnosis. Each section is further divided into sections and relate to different organ systems. For a full picture of the session, visit my Acupuncture page.
